QUEEN'S DAY 2001: Friday, DAY 1

They're HERE! Tim and Leslie arrived Friday (the eve of the eve of Queen's Day eve), had a nap, went to the Rijks Museum, saw the Night Watch and other assorted art masterpieces, took a boat ride, went to the Tara, had some beers, went to the office to pick up Brian, had some beers, went to dinner at De Reiger, had some more beers, ate lemon cheese cake for desert, went home and fell asleep until noon. Life is good, and the party hasn't even begun yet! Our roving reporter noted that at some point at the Tara, a face was penned upon the finger of Tim, the digit declared to be dubbed "Steve" and the hapless fingerprinted face promptly "Swizzled" in beer. (See report of Steve Kellerman Queens Day visit for reference, and heck, have a look at the Molly Queen's Day Visit page while you're at it.) Doon wanted a face on his finger too, and called his "Blue." Hi out there! Have you seen Beer, my puppy? Stay tuned!

DAY 2: Brian watched Doon while Leslie, Time, and Marth went to the Anne Frank House, the Flower Market, Rembrandt's House, Waterlooplein Market, then Rose's Cantina for Mexican & Margheritas. And, at Mulligan's Irish Bar, Swizzleman joined us in Amsterdam: See The Video: Windows Media File and Real Player. Back at home, Brian and Tim Whomped Marth and Leslie at Euchre.

DAY 3: Marth watched Doon while Brian, Tim, and Leslie went to the Van Gogh Museum, had a walk through the Museumplein, then down to the Dam Square to meet up with Marth and Doon and try Genever (Dutch national sipping gin) at a "tasting Tavern" that has been standing since the 17th century, unlike many of its patrons. Then on to the Pancake Bakery for Pannekoeken (Doon: AND ICE CREAM!!!). Steve got in on the Ice Cream action too...

DAY 4: QUEEN'S DAY!

Above: Raw Herring!!!!!!!!!!! (Leslie has that Heineken ready for an emergency washdown, but He Likes It! Hey Timmy!)

Doony did a little trip through the Vondel Park, where kids sell and swap toys and make small change running games.
We all had a great time.
